Izzy's 2 YEAR Appointment

This was a short visit. The longest part was the 2 hour wait in the waiting room and in the doctor room. The visit itself was maybe about 15 minutes long.

She is growing so well and proportionately! She's about 3 feet tall. Her reflexes are good. Everything about her seems fine. We got her a varnish on her teeth but she probably won't see a dentist for another 6 months. She didn't get a shot but she got her finger pricked and didn't blink. Hahahahaha. She's been wearing her bandaid and insists that we "Keep it on, Mama, keep it on".

Here are some updates that aren't from her appointment but just from us hanging out with her:

  • Izzy can climb up stairs completely by herself.
  • Izzy can use a fork and spoon!
  • She can open doors.
  • Walk long distances (this is a milestone! I'm so happy not to have to carry her all the time)
  • Understand concepts of money, ownership, emotion, sickness, human conditions, etc.
  • Izzy can open just about anything she sets her mind to.
  • She can put her shoes on (and on the correct feet).
  • She can put her jacket on.
  • She can zip up her jacket with a little help.
  • She can articulate what she wants (I need water. I want to watch. I'm cold. I'm hungry. I need food. I want to go outside. I want to play. ETC.)
  • Slide down small slides by herself.
  • Pause and play Netflix on the laptop and the PS4.
  • Play my phone games.
  • Swipe away notifications on our phones.
  • Izzy knows both of our names.
    • "What's mama's name?" "Bess (She can't say Beth yet)" "What's papa's name?" "Eric" "What's Izzy's name?" "IZZY"
  • She can remember a list from before going to the grocery store until we get those items from the grocery store.
    • She can remember up to 3 things (We haven't asked her to remember more than that).
She can almost:
  • Climb the rock climbing walls at the park completely by herself.
  • Turn wheels all the way around.

Now & Later | 3-Day Video Project

Now & Later (3-Day Process)

This was a project before the semester started. I taught two people on Wednesday, reviewed with those two and taught a new person on Thursday, before filming on Friday for an hour. We got multiple angles and shots by using two iPhones at the same time. A lot of the work went into a last minute introduction with us vibing behind each person freestyling in front along with the editing.

The editing happened that night and I was able to release the video a few hours after we finished filming!

The way I choreographed this project has been different from the rest, where I didn’t listen to the song and pick out what parts of the song I wanted to bring out. Instead, I choreographed by freestyling to it and putting the pieces together. It was the most fun I’ve had choreographing thus far and I think the most organic video I have done, too.

Props to the lovely dancers who learned this piece and executed it so well! I appreciate their hard work and my Entropy family always being willing to work on a project with me!

Afternoon Thoughts

  • It's now 2017.
  • Now that something is taking up 1/3 of your time (When 1/3 of your time should be spent sleeping and you really only have 1/3 time for misc. things) you are more willing to do everything you've said you would do.
  • Izzy is 2.
  • EC and I have our 3rd marriage anniversary in 2 months.
  • We graduate in 3 months.
  • We're finally getting OUR first car tomorrow.
  • I feel so lucky to have all the things I have in my life.
  • I'm trying my best to be grateful and acknowledge everyone/everything in my life.

Black Beatles | 2-Day Process

Hey friends!

Working on another video project today. We learned the choreography yesterday and shot the video of it today in an hour. It was super fun and the easiest process I've ever done.

Yesterday, the dancers got together to learn the choreography and discuss concept and costume.

Today, we got together to film at the location and ran through it once to get the one-take video we wanted.

I'm so happy with the finished product and can't wait to get it out there!

Caroline Video

The video is out!

Watch it here.

It was so much fun doing this project and by far the easiest and most successful video I've done.

Enjoy!
